Recycle Rechargeable and Regular Batteries

This or That: Rechargeable battery vs. single useDid you know that rechargeable batteries are not only better for the environment but also for your wallet? Rechargeables power a wide range of devices and can be used repeatedly, saving you money in the long run.

To ensure the safe disposal of household batteries, it’s important to recycle them properly. Avoid placing them in trash or recycling carts as they can catch fire or explode.

Call2Recycle provides drop off locations for rechargeable and single use batteries (and cell phones) which you can find here: https://www.call2recycle.org/locator/

You can also bring them to a Hazardous Waste Collection Facility. In San Bernardino County, these facilities are run by the San Bernardino County Fire Department. Visit https://sbcfire.org/hhw or call 1.800.OILY.CAT to find a collection location near you.
