    This FREE workshop will introduce participants to the intricacies of proper recycling in their curbside containers and allow them to be part of the new Green Team Volunteer Program. Participants will also receive a free recycling container!

Recycling at Your Business or Work

Beginning July 1, 2012 many California businesses and apartments are required to recycle. To get started, call your service provider or call 1-888-URECYCLE.

What Can Be Recycled?

Much of what your business currently throws “away” can be recycled. Here is a list of items that can be recycled in most Business Recycling Programs:


  • White and colored office paper
  • Photocopy paper
  • Computer paper
  • Junk mail/Catalogs
  • Phone books
  • Newspapers/Magazines
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • All other clean, dry paper

Bottles and Cans:

  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Tin cans
  • Aluminum cans and foil
  • PET (#1) plastic bottles
  • HDPE (#2) plastic bottles


  • Rigid containers (#1 through #7)
  • Commercial film

Businesses participating in local community recycling programs have the opportunity to show the business recycling window decal. Businesses displaying this decal acknowledge their participation in bettering the communities they serve through recycling.
