Rinse or Wipe Out Food Waste

Please remove food waste from metal cans before recycling to prevent the contamination of other recyclables in the collection truck and at the recycling processing center. One food-covered can or tin can contaminate an entire bin of otherwise perfectly recyclable items. Plus, clean recyclables will have little or no odor and are less likely to attract bugs or rodents to your carts.
