Household-generated medical sharps such as hypodermic needles, lancets, and razor blades are considered bio-hazardous waste and should never be placed in trash, recycling, or green waste containers. They are dangers to workers handling the material, who require medical screening and treatment when poked by sharps.

There are also local Hazardous Waste drop off options available to residents at one of San Bernardino County Fire Protection District HHW Collection Facilities. To find one near you visit: https://sbcfire.org/collectionfacilities
