Let’s Have a Plastic Free Easter

Plastic Free Easter

Plastic eggs. Plastic basket. Plastic grass. Plastic toys. Oh my! Before you stock up on Easter supplies, take a moment to think about some ways to make it plastic-free.

  • Consider long-lasting wooden eggs, biodegradable paper eggs, or better yet real eggs you can eat after the hunt.
  • Just say no to that green plastic grass. It may be ubiquitous with Easter, but it’s just plastic that won’t degrade in landfill. Try shredding leftover paper or colored construction paper for fun. Or use real, dried grass.
  • Choose candy in recyclable paperboard packaging rather than individual plastic or foil wrappings.

And of course, if you have already have plastic Easter supplies, reuse them rather than buying new. Every little decision has an impact!
