Before you place your aluminum or metal recyclables into your curbside bin, remember that we need them EMPTY, CLEAN and DRY. Lightly rinse (use leftover dishwashing water), wipe away food residue, and let dry.
Why? Food residue and moisture can contaminate other recyclables in the collection truck or at the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) where your recyclables are sorted (and compacted into bales) and then shipped to businesses to be made into new products.
